She left Zimbabwe in 1988 to go work for Michael Stoute in Newmarket, which marked the beginning of stints in Australia, Dubai and the USA. Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Sergio DeSousa came to the USA in 1987. He worked at Margaux Stud for 18 months then traveled to France, Ireland, England, Italy and New Zealand working on various stud farms before returning to the USA. Today, he is Manager/Partner of Hidden Brook farm in Paris, Kentucky.
